General Info - Lenses

Decot makes non-prescription and prescription lenses for Decot Shooting Glasses... as well as for your Post 4, Ranger, Browning, Serengeti, B&L Shooters, and Zeiss Shooting Glasses.

Plano (non-prescription), single vision prescription, and bifocal lenses are available. Bifocals are usually done in a small "round 22" for shotgun sports and in flat top 28 or 35 for everyday and fishing. For pistol shooting, you may choose to have your bifocal inverted, or you may want to have the lens of your "aiming eye" completely in an intermediate power. (See Sam Cherry's article 'Is your front sight a blur?' )

When you call or fax us with your prescription, we also need a measurement called "PD" (pupilary distance). If you don't find this on the prescription, call your doctor or optician and get it first.

All Decot non-Rx lenses come standard in our shatter proof Polycarbonate lens material.  Due to the fact that Decot Hy-Wyd provides eyewear for various non-impact sports, other outdoor activities, and shooting sports all Rx lenses come standard with CR-39 impact resistant lenses*.  Hi-Index lenses are available for certain stronger prescriptions.  If your sport requires a shatter proof lens we offer Polycarbonate and Trivex materials.

*NOTE: The purchase of CR-39 or Hi-Index lenses automatically implies acknowledgement and the understanding that these lens materials meet all impact resistant standards in FDA 21 CFR 801.410. (d)(2). This does not mean that these lenses are shatterproof.

All lenses provide complete UV A & B protection and, have a scratch resistant coating.  Polarization, Transitions and Anti- Reflective coating options are also available at additional cost.
